1. CERTIFICATE IN ROUGH DIAMOND ASSORTMENT
 
Program Overview :    

Generally, the world sorting is applied to rough diamond. Here the goods are assorted into groups having similar characteristics. The assorter needs to have  more intimate knowledge of diamonds. The person undergoing training will have fairly good knowledge on rough diamond assortment.

(10.30-13.45 or 14.15-17.30 depending on availability of seats)

  

Diamond identification, history & occurrences of diamonds, sieving, sorting terminology, sorting techniques, sorting into size, sorting into shapes, sorting into color, sorting into purity, sorting for manufacturing-makeable, sawable, cleavable, Instruments used for the processes.

Basics of Bruting, Bruting tips & techniques, yield recovery, fixing of diamonds, machine maintenance.

2. CERTIFICATE IN POLISHED DIAMOND GRADING

 

Programmes Overview :

    

The word ‘Grading’ is usually applied to classifying polished diamonds, wherein finished goods are separated into a number of lots depending upon the size, shape, quality of cut, colour & clarity of the later to make them ready for exports or sale in the market. Person willing to enter into diamond business must have a thorough knowledge of grading. The trained personnel have good job prospects with diamond exporters and jewelers. Those having experience in polishing process will be more suitable for this Programmes.

Monday – Friday only

1-4 weeks                  Polishing (10.30-17.30)

5-12 weeks                Polished Grading

(Either 10.30-13.45 or 14.15-17.30 depending on availability of seats)
 
 

Basic of Polishing, Polishing direction, polishing grain, polishing tips & techniques.

Sieving, Grading of Polished Diamonds and Instruments used, Color Grading, Clarity Grading, Grading for cut according to local market demand and as per GIA standards Only Star & Malee size polished diamond are covered under this Programme.

 Valuation of Polished Diamonds as per local market.

This program is most suitable for jewllers/ diamond traders.

Grading of polished diamond above 0.20 cts.
Grading of 4'c with the help of loup and exposure to Master Stone Set.
Identification of Polished Diamond
Microscope study of inclusion and their plotting and assorting the clarity grade as per internationa standard.
Exposure to Master Stone set for color grading of diamond.

Identification of polished diamond and simulants.
Introduction to diamond grading lab practice.
Hand practice on grading of diamond in the diamond grading laboratory.
